Halftime!

Half a year has now passed, and it has literally flown by for us, as we have had a packed trade fair and conference calendar this year. To mark the occasion, we would like to take this opportunity to give you a brief review of Matesy's activities.
Magnetics Conference Orlando, FL
We already started in February with the Magnetics Conference in the USA (02/14 & 02/15/2024), which took our colleague Mr. Schmidt to sunny Florida in Orlando. The focus here was on networking with the North American magnetism and metrology community and, of course, especially on the latest information on magnetic materials, especially rare-earth-free magnetic materials.
Symposium Electromagnetism Künzelsau
Hardly back from the warmth of Florida, the Electromagnetism Symposium organized by the Technical Academy Esslingen and Hochschule Heilbronn was already waiting for Mr. Schmidt on the Künzelsau campus. This symposium focused primarily on new innovative concepts for electric motors. Here we were also able to gather a lot of new information on the latest motor technologies, particularly through presentations from and discussions with developers.
Coiltech Germany Augsburg
“The most beautiful month for the heart is and remains the month of March.” (German saying) And since magnetism is particularly close to our hearts, we headed straight from Künzelsau to this year's Coiltech Deutschland.
This trade fair for coils and motors, which has been taking place since 2021 and is therefore still relatively new, is already attracting many established and new exhibitors and visitors from all over the world to the Bavarian city of Augsburg, including us.
A technically extremely interesting and exciting line-up of exhibitors, presentations and information events once again awaited our colleagues. At our brand-new LED stand, we presented our Helmholtz coil systems for geomagnetic field compensation and sensor calibration, which are available in customizable sizes and magnetic field strengths.
Our automatable magnetic field scanner for rotors, MHLS, also attracted a lot of attention. Due to the location of the trade fair, we were able to welcome many visitors from southern Germany as well as many guests from all over Europe and the rest of the world.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our visitors, customers and business partners for their great interest in our devices and technologies and are already looking forward to next year!

Grinding Hub Stuttgart
Our sales manager Sybille Pukallus continued her journey in May to the Grinding Hub in Stuttgart, where she was accompanied by Dr. Albrecht Hertzsch from the institute and Matesy business partner INNOVENT e. V. Technologieentwicklung, also based in Jena. In addition to our “perennial favorite” STT - shaft twist tester, Dr. Hertzsch presented the “roughness antenna” (for surface analysis using scattered light), which he has developed and is still in pre-series status, to a broad specialist audience.
The presentation of our devices also included a technical lecture by Dr. Hertzsch on the subject of “Twist testing on cylindrical seal mating surfaces”. We would also like to thank the visitors for their great interest!
Magnetics Show USA Pasadena, CA
May was not yet over for our sales team after the Grinding Hub, so Ms. Pukallus packed her bags again and took our now USA-tested Mr. Schmidt with her to the California sun in Pasadena for the start of the Magnetics Show USA. The proximity to Silicon Valley and the well-known tech giants naturally also ensures that there are plenty of scientists and experts as well as manufacturers in the field of magnetism on the West Coast, with whom we were able to successfully make contact and exchange experiences at the trade fair.
Like the beginning of the year in Orlando, the focus here was on the trend - away from rare earth magnets - towards recycling and the development of new magnetic materials. Of course, after a successful trade fair, our two sales colleagues didn't miss the opportunity to explore the surrounding area and make the land of unlimited possibilities a little unsafe - honestly, who wouldn't want to do that? :)
Ilmenau magnet day
Not as spectacular as Pasadena, but still highly interesting, our Managing Director Mr. Wenzel continued in June in the tranquil Thuringian Forest at the bi-annual Ilmenau Magnet Day. This time the focus was on magnetic valves and the development of electromagnetic actuators. A good reason to exhibit our Matesy core technologies and thus “driving forces” such as m-axis for measuring magnetic dipolesand our cmos-magivew for magnetic structure visualization. Due to the proximity to Jena, we also met a lot of familiar faces there and used this opportunity to network and exchange experiences.
